BERLIN, Vt. — Association Health Plans (AHPs) offer Vermont small businesses more health plan choices for 2019, many at a lower cost. Two Vermont-based associations, both working with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT), will provide options to improve the health and wellness of Vermont employees, connect more people to essential health benefits, and save small businesses and Vermonters money. Business Resource Services (BRS) and the Vermont Association of Chamber Executives (VACE), together with BCBSVT, have years of experience providing health care solutions for a variety of types of businesses and employees in Vermont.
Curious about Association Health Plans? New federal regulations allow AHPs to join small businesses together, by either geography or industry, as if they are one single entity for health care purposes. This structure creates more benefit options for small businesses and enables them to lower costs and provides greater flexibility. The enrollment period for AHPs coincides with the Affordable Care Act’s open enrollment, so small businesses can make the best choice for their situation.
Explore these new options by contacting your broker, one of the Associations listed below or BCBSVT’s Consumer and Business Support Services team.
