BOYS SOCCER
Stevens 6, Kingswood 3
“We played a great game,” said Stevens head coach Jason Stone. “It was nice to finally get some goals. We were up 5-0 at halftime and then I started to move some players around to get them experience in other positions but that resulted in us giving up a few goals.” Stone went on to say, “We worked hard all year and created a bunch of scoring opportunities but couldn’t convert on many of them. I am so happy for the boys tonight. They deserved some goals and a good result.” Senior Ian Fitzpatrick ended his high school career on a high note, scoring 3 times Thursday. Caleb Royce, Josh Thurber and Dylan Chambers assisted on his goals. Freshmen Reeve Wilkinson and Chambers each had nice goals. Royce assisted on both of those goals. Colby Jarvis scored the other goal on an assist from Thurber. “The back line of Tyler Bonneau, Brady Moote and George Prach did a great job in the first half,” said Stone. Cooper Moote had 3 saves in the first half. Reeve wilkinson took over in the second half and had 6 saves.
Merrimack Valley 3, Kearsarge 1
Kearsarge’s goal was scored by senior Ben Corbyn, and assisted by senior Gabe Benedict in the 37th minute. The Cougars had nine shots on goal and their keeper, Seth Rutledge-Davis, saved 16 shots. Thursday was Senior Night for Kearsarge: their seven seniors are Gabe Benedict, Captain Jared Fortier, Captain Brady Esmaili, Brandon Bullis, Ben Corbyn, Joe Baldasaro, and Owen Cottrill. On the game, coach John Geary said, “We started a bit sluggish in the first half and gave up a quick goal in the 5th minute, but found energy to come out strong in the second half. We created chances, worked hard, and unfortunately hit the post a few times. Coach Burch and I are very pleased with how the team showed resiliency, and the will to battle in the second forty. However, we know that moving forward into the playoffs will require us to have that high energy level during both halves of soccer.”
