CLAREMONT — Gubernatorial candidate Molly Kelly made a stop at Democratic headquarters on Sullivan Street and was warmly welcomed by a crowd of 35 fellow Democrats who were about to go door knocking Saturday morning.
“Get everybody out to make sure we win,” the Keene State College graduate said.
John Cloutier, a long-time State Representative from Claremont and also a Keene State graduate, introduced Kelly. “Nobody works harder for you than this man here,” she said while praising Cloutier.
Kelly indicated she knows the value of teamwork as she comes from a family of 11 children. “I learned early that if we succeed, we all succeed.
Early in her informal chat, Kelly touched on the importance of education in New Hampshire. “Every child in this state deserves to have a quality education and be successful. I want to strengthen public education.”
Kelly also said she backs paid family and medical leave. “Being with people you love and care for the most when they need you is important,” she said. It is also about being with elderly parents and children when they are sick, she continued.
“This legislation has always been important to me. We need to make family leave a reality.”
Talking about the upcoming election, Kelly said everything you’ve been holding inside you have a chance to vote up or down. “Something is happening out there.”
At the end of her visit, Kelly also had a suggestion for the group of volunteers.
“When you go door knocking, people want to hear what is in your heart.”
She also took a jab at her opponent and the crowd gave her a positive response.
“I have President Obama’s endorsement. Gusss what? Governor Sununu said he would love to have President Trump’s endorsement.”
