Voting for Zuckerman

To the editor,

As a volunteer member of the political committee of the Vermont Chapter of the Sierra Club, I am very pleased to have been able to participate in the process to endorse David Zuckerman for Lieutenant Governor. We also endorsed him in 2016.

Although much older and living far away, I have known David since he was a student at UVM and we both spoke at an environmental class one time. I was deeply impressed with his being so knowledgeable and articulate way back then and am just amazed at how far he has come since then as a farmer/business person, environmental activist, and a very excellent political leader who is great at engaging people on all sides.

I particularly like that he wants to put a ban on corporate political contributions. PAC’s are destroying our democracy. I also like that he stresses moving to a more “sustainable state.” Given how we are destroying our environment by importing 95% of our food and most of our energy it is essential that with global warming that we as individuals and as a state government do all that we can to be more sustainable. And if you want to know what a really good definition of sustainable is, and not just a feel good word, go the web site of the Vermont chapter.
