For Annmarie Christensen

To the editor,

Could voting be any more important this year? I am writing to urge Weathersfield and Cavendish voters to re-elect Annmarie Christensen as state representative for Windsor County.

I’ve known Annmarie for over 20 years. I’ve seen her responsiveness and compassion as a first-term representative as she worked with my Weathersfield neighbors who have had individual issues they needed help with. Annmarie also threw her support to a Weathersfield town project to restore the 1879 Perkinsville Schoolhouse to become a community center. Annmarie worked with our local committee; not only did she and her partner volunteer to help paint and work on windows to renovate the school, she also helped us with a grant which will go to the restoration.

Annmarie has an excellent knowledge of the health care industry and was appointed to the House Health Care Committee. On that committee, she’s worked to find a clear path to quality, affordable health services in Vermont, including access to mental health treatment. She has also worked to create transparency and reduction in drug pricing, something all Vermonters will benefit from.

Her expertise in health care also gave her the chance to work on reducing the proliferation of prescription opioid drugs and heroin, this included getting treatment for those addicted and sending dealers to jail.

Annmarie voted for paid family leave and to increase the minimum wage. Annmarie deserves a second term in the house to build on work she’s already started. Please vote to re-elect her on Nov. 6.
