CLAREMONT and CLIFTON PARK, New York — Gerry Ann Laliberte, 74, of Maurice Lane, Clifton Park, New York passed from this life on Oct. 24, 2018, at her home after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Claremont, and was the daughter of the late Philip and Evelyn (Richmond) Rogers.
Gerry was a graduate of Stevens High School in Claremont, class of 1962. She attended college at the University of New Hampshire at Durham, and earned her master’s degree in public health administration at Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. Gerry met her husband Laurence while at University of New Hampshire, and they were married on April 13, 1968, celebrating 50 years of marriage earlier this year. Together they raised three children.
Gerry led a full and rewarding career as a medical technologist and supervisor of the hematology lab at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, where she worked for over 40 years until her retirement.
In her spare time Gerry loved to play and watch tennis (long-time member of the USTA), read, do Tai Chi, cross stitch, cycle (trained 6 months at age 62 for the “Century Ride” around Lake Tahoe for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), quilt, make boxwood Christmas trees with friends, garden, travel, national park hop, spend summers in Cape Cod with family, play piano, and visit with her children and grandchildren.
Gerry was predeceased by a daughter Lisa Ann. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Laurence Laliberte; loving mother of Keith Laliberte, Matthew (and his wife Jessica) Laliberte, and Nicole Laliberte (and her husband Justus Balentine;) and devoted Grammy to Brecken, Cooper, and Finley Laliberte.
Funeral services will be held in spring 2019 at Clifton Park Center Baptist Church, 713 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY. Interment will be in Clifton Park Center Cemetery, Clifton Park, NY.
