WEATHERSFIELD, Vt. — On Oct. 27 at 1:24 a.m., the Vermont State Police were notified of a crash near 3368 Vermont Route 131 in the town of Weathersfield, Vermont. While investigating the crash, a suspicious vehicle was seen driving through the scene of the crash several times. Troopers out of the Westminster State Police Barracks attempted to make contact with the vehicle, when it attempted to elude them. After a short pursuit, troopers stopped the vehicle and arrested the operator, Samuel Clement, 25, of Perkinsville, Vermont, who was driving a 2001 Lincoln Town Car for driving under the influence, attempting to elude pursuit, negligent operation and excessive speed. He was transported to the Springfield Police Department for fingerprints and photographs. He was then released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division on Nov. 13 at 8 a.m.
