VT D-I: Bellows Falls 3, Rice 2

Bellows Falls won 3 to 2 over Rice at Middlebury College in a cold-rainy semifinal game, 3-2.The Terriers will play South Burlington in the final on Saturday, after South Burlington defeated Colchester in 2OT. For the Terriers, Abbe Cravinho scored off of an assist from Molly Kelly on a corner play with 23:32 left in the first half. Then rice scored to tie it up at the 6:19 mark. Kelly then scored about a minute later to make it 2-1. “Entered the half, made a few adjustments and played much better… nice passing,” said BF head coach Bethany Coursen. Maya Waryas then scored off of a pass from Cravihno on a nice give and go down the side line to make it 3-1. But rice wasn’t done, as Lisa McNamara scored her second of the game with 2:29 left in the game.

VT D-III: St. Johnsbury 4, Windsor 3

Semifinals: Windsor’s Hannah Wood had a goal assisted by Alyssa Slocum with 11:23 left in first. St. J responded with a goal 9 minutes later to tie 1-1 at the half. St. J came out in the second scoring 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Windsor answered 1 min later on a diving goal by Jenna Hood. With 10:38 to play, St. J scored their final goal to make the game 4-2. Yellow Jackets answered at the 7:17 mark to come within 1 goal. “We had multiple opportunities to tie the game in the last 5 minutes but couldn’t put it in the net,” said Windsor coach Jody Wood. Windsor out-shot St. J 12 to 9, and had 7 penalty Corners to their 3. Glenna Ricard had the complete game in net with 3 saves while St. J’s goalie made 7.
