To the editor,
The importance of adequately and fairly funding public education cannot be underestimated. School funding is heavily reliant on local property taxes as a result of increased cuts to state education aid. When you live in a property-poor town you pay a higher tax rate and do not necessarily raise enough revenue to fund the school system adequately. We need to hold candidates for the New Hampshire House and Senate accountable to support public education and to address school funding. Two candidates for state representative; Bruce Cragin (Sullivan District 11) and John Streeter (Sullivan District 8) are up for the challenge. They believe that every New Hampshire child deserves an equal, quality and affordable education. Your vote is needed to support public education by voting for Bruce Cragin and John Streeter Nov. 6.
