Virginia Drye on Virginia Drye

To the editor,

As a young person born and raised in New Hampshire, I know how great it is to live here, work here, and play here. I am running for state representative in Sullivan County District 1, which serves Plainfield, Cornish, Grantham and Springfield. I’m 19 and I believe my generation needs to stand up and start to take responsibility for the future of the state, because the decisions we make today affect more than just today. As a home-school graduate, I know firsthand that education isn’t one size fits all. I support improved and more readily available educational opportunities, including vocational training.

As a young resident, I want to see our state train and retain our young people. In order for this to happen, we need to have this perspective represented. We need representatives that young people feel comfortable approaching with their ideas.

Here is a little bit about me: I am the youngest of nine children. I have lived in the same house on Route 12A in Plainfield for almost 20 years. I am very active in the community and in the county. I am a 10-year alumna of the Sullivan County 4-H program. I want to ensure that the state that I grew up in, the state that I love, continues to prosper. I am looking for your support and your vote on Nov. 6.
