Assaulting, fleeing, being arrested

COURTESY
ROCKINGHAM, Vt. — On Nov. 1 at 3:10 p.m., troopers responded to 809 Rockingham Road, Rockingham, Vermont for a report of two individuals fighting and littering a business parking lot with drug paraphernalia. Troopers located one of the parties and found additional drug paraphernalia and suspected stolen property. It was determined that a homeless man, Michael Wesoloski, 48, had assaulted the individual they contacted on several occasions over the past few weeks. In doing so, he also violated several active sets of conditions set by the court, preventing contact between him and the victim. Wesoloski was later found at a gas station in Springfield, Vermont. Upon police arrival, he fled and hid in the bathroom stall. Wesoloski was eventually arrested without incident and transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing. He was ordered to be held without bail. He was transported to and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility. Additional charges related to possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernal may be forthcoming.

Wesoloski appeared at Windham County Superior Court on Nov. 2 at 12:30 p.m. for arraignment. He was charged with two counts of second degree aggravated assault and violations of conditions of release.
