Charlestown Police Department Log Oct. 28 – Nov. 3

Oct. 28

6:23 p.m. – Report taken of two bears in Hidden Valley.

2:31 p.m. – Officer responded to a report of a shop lifter at an area store.

4:11 p.m. – Officer responded to a report of loose horses in the area of Old Claremont Road/North Hemlock Road. The owner was advised and rounded up the horses.

7:04 p.m. – Officer responded to speak with a subject about harassing text messages.

7:33 p.m. – Officer responded to a residence to check for a missing person out of the town of Raymond. The person has not been found.

Oct. 30

11:40 a.m. – Officer spoke with subject who wanted to press charges for slander and defamation of character due to someone writing things about him on Facebook.

10:14 p.m. – Officer spoke with subject who had let his grandson use his vehicle. The grandson had not brought it back. Officer spoke with grandson who agreed to bring the vehicle back.

11:42 p.m. – Officer responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a rock on Oxbrook Road. It was found the vehicle swerved to miss a deer. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Nov. 1

8:40 a.m. – Motor vehicle stop on Claremont Road. The driver Nolan McClay, 25, of Charlestown was issued a summons to appear in court for reckless driving.

11:52 a.m. – Officer responded to a Main Street parking lot for a report of a driver accusing the caller of something coming off his truck and hitting her windshield doing damage.

Nov. 2

2:25 p.m. – Subject came into the station to turn himself in on a warrant. While at the police department the subject starting complaining of back pain. He was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

2:46 p.m. – Report taken of a debit card stolen by a friend and being used.

Nov. 3

6:00 a.m. – Officer responded to a report of Hackett Swamp Road flooding. The highway department was notified and they closed the road off in that area.

8:45 a.m. – Officer responded to a report of a vehicle in the stream on Morningside Lane. It was found the vehicle belongs to the owner of the property and was parked there accidentally.

11:29 a.m. – Officer responded to speak with a resident on Ann Avenue reference Guinea hens on her property being loud and making a mess.

7:56 p.m. – Officer responded to a report of gun shots heard on Upper Lovers Lane. The officer checked the area with nothing heard or seen.
