James A. Sprague

CLAREMONT — James Sprague of Claremont, died Nov. 10 in Palm Harbor, Florida after a period of failing health. He is survived by his wife of 61 years; Clara (Wrisley) Sprague, one brother Donald Sprague and his wife Betty Ann of Bristol, Connecticut; two children Richard Sprague and his wife Hi Sook of Daegu, Korea; Susan Sprague Love and her husband Anthony of Claremont. Jim was also blessed with seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. His son Timothy A. Sprague predeceased him in 1998. Jim owned Sprague Machine which he operated for several years. He simultaneously ran Sunrise Vending along with his wife Clara from 1985 to 2000. Jim never met a stranger as he had the knack of being able to strike up a conversation almost anyone with whom he came in contact. He will be greatly missed.The family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to one of the following organizations in Jim’s memory to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater Florida 33760 or the National Dementia Association 1100 W Norway Ave, 108 Mitchell, SD 57301.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church on Pleasant St. in Claremont on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow at The Common Man Restaurant on Water St. in Claremont at 2 p.m.
