This fall was a highly successful season for local high school soccer teams, and this week, individuals in Vermont were honored for their play by being selected to the 2018 MVL All-Star teams.
17 local athletes were selected, as well as one local coach being selected as Coach of the Year:
Boys C Division: Brook Ordway-Smith (Green Mtn), Carver Provance (Green Mtn), Hunter Grela (Windsor), AJ Aldrich (Springfield), Lucas Pugh (Springfield).
Boys D Division: John Donovan (Bellows Falls), Zack Paul (Black River), Ryan Boyle (Black River).
Girls B Division: Jenna Veysey (Springfield), Kayla Gibbons (Springfield).
Girls C Division: Paige Karl (Green Mtn), Maddie Wilson (Green Mtn), Brigid Karl (Green Mtn), Olivia Rockwood (Windsor), Carah Rugg (Windsor), Rachel Guerra (Green Mtn). Coach of the Year: Jeff Bachey (Windsor).
Girls D Division: Hope Kelley (Black River).
Windsor head coach Jeff Bachey was extremely grateful after receiving the honor for the first time, but gave much of the credit to his group of young ladies.
“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers for this award,” Bachey said. “Of course, all of the girls deserve the credit. They are the ones that practice hard and go out and play soccer the way I have tried to get them to. This group of seniors I have had a chance to work with for four years, so it’s been great to watch the transformation throughout their high school career.”
