Okemo to hold food drive for local food shelf

LUDLOW, Vt. — Okemo ski area will continue a long-standing tradition on December 2nd when the employees and volunteers hold their Fall Cares and Shares food drive. When skiers and snowboarders donate at least five non-perishable food items, a new/unused child’s toy, new/unused clothing item, or $20 cash they receive a coupon for a $45 lift ticket good on this day.

Donations will be collected in the Clock Tower Base Plaza from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The savings on the cost of a lift ticket are significant.

Many skiers bring food for the drive even though they have already purchased a pass or ticket. This food drive helps Black River Good Neighbor Services in Ludlow to administer its holiday food basket program and also to fill its food shelves for the coming winter months.

Black River Good Neighbor Services assists qualified residents of Ludlow, Cavendish, Mount Holly, and Plymouth with food and financial assistance. For more information about BRGNS please call Audrey or Krey at 802-228-3663.
