Goldman Sachs 10,000 small-businesses training opportunity

LEBANON — Goldman-Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses initiative is looking for business owners in the Upper Valley to participate in a no cost business training course. This program is an investment to help entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing greater access to education, capital and business support services. River Valley Community College and the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce is hosting an informational event at the Lebanon Academic Center at 15 Hanover Street, on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. Harvey Horn, outreach coordinator for 10,000 Small Businesses, will present an overview of the program along with details on the benefits to business owners and how to apply. The application deadline is Dec. 3 and classes will begin in March 2019.

River Valley Community College Accounting and Business faculty members, Michelle Kainen and Linda Richelson have been selected to participate in the training. Business owners will participate in professional workshops delivered in-person and online by some of the brightest minds in the business. They will be provided with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new ways to access financial capital and build a powerful network of professional support.

The initiative will offer a hands-on approach for business growth and includes three multi-day in-person sessions centrally located in New Hampshire and supported by online courses. The program will focus on practical business skills including negotiations, marketing, and employee management. Participants will have access to highly-trained professionals who understand what it takes to grow a small business. They will get the advantage of working with an expanded peer network of small business owners from across the country.
