Mount Royal Academy named to rank of Ambassador School

SUNAPEE — Mount Royal Academy was recently elevated by the Catholic Education Honor Roll to the rank of an Ambassador School.

The national program, directed by the Cardinal Newman Society, recognizes high-performing Catholic elementary and secondary schools and assists in the promotion of Catholic identity.

While the Cardinal Newman society works with several hundred schools, it calls upon select Honor Roll “Ambassador Schools” such as Mount Royal Academy to serve as beacons and resources for other Catholic schools nationwide.

The school achieved this level of recognition as a result of its unusually high score on the extensive Honor Roll application and review; the quality, availability and potential value of its resources, programs and materials to other Catholic schools; the willingness of its administrators to share their time and talent with other Catholic schools; and after undergoing additional in- depth vetting by the Cardinal Newman Society.

Ambassador Schools agree to work closely with the Honor Roll program and to assist other schools in implementing best practices in Catholic education nationwide.

“We are grateful for the assistance of our Ambassador Schools to help us in our mission to promote and defend faithful Catholic education at all levels. Administrators who have experience in creating and sustaining faithful and vibrant Catholic schools are a wealth of information for those looking to improve aspects of their school’s Catholic identity,” said Patrick J. Reilly, president of The Cardinal Newman Society.

Dr. Denise Donohue, coordinator of the Honor Roll, stated, “We are very pleased to have Mount Royal Academy assist us in this servant capacity. There are many things other schools can learn from its success. The Church needs more schools like Mount Royal Academy”

Headmaster Derek Tremblay remarked, “Mount Royal Academy is happy to serve in this capacity. I applaud the board, students, parents, teachers, and staff for their hard work in assuring a strong Catholic identity permeates all that we do in preparing our students to be future leaders in both society and the Church. We look forward to helping others achieve similar outcomes.”
