Walpole Players to present old-time radio on stage

COURTESY
WALPOLE — After a one year hiatus The Walpole Players will again present their “Christmas on Air!” a seasonal collection of holiday-themed old-time radio entertainment, on Dec. 15 in the Helen Miller Theater of the Walpole Town Hall. The evening of entertainment is similar to that of the groups “Radio Follies” show, an on-stage reminisce of the ‘30s and ‘40s golden days of radio, that has been presented in March for the past six years. Many of the holiday performers will be the same as the “Radio Follies” crew. Jack Benny and Fiber McGee and Molly skits will be re-created along with a good bit of holiday music that will include old favorites as well as some sing along.

The audience will be seated at round tables of eight with the bringing of dinner or snacks and drinks encouraged. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Theatergoers may linger at the tables after the show as well. Tickets are $10, with proceeds going to the Our Place Drop in Center and the Fall Mountain Food Shelf. Tickets are available at Joanie Jones Baked Goods in Walpole where reservations can also be made.
