NEWPORT — Yvette R. Poisson, 78, passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2018 at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity. She was born Feb. 24, 1940, the daughter of Ovila and Rezeda (Cote) Poirier.
Yvette graduated from Charlestown High School and went to work at many different places, but lastly was the chief scale operator at L.E. Weed & Sons in Newport.
She loved quilting and crafting. She was talented. She especially loved her family and Christmas was her favorite time of year.
She married her high school sweetheart on June 28, 1958.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George L. Poisson, her three sons, Paul (Sara) of Stockbridge, Vermont, Daniel (Kelly) of Bluffton, South Carolina, David (Diane) of Claremont; two brothers, Philip Poirier and Joe Poirier, and one sister, Jeanne George; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Yolanda (Yo) Michaud/Cleary, Florence (Flo) Gagne, one brother Laurier Poirier.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers feel free to make a donation in Yvette’s name to the Sullivan County Health Care facility in care of the MacConnell Alzheimers Dementia Care Unit.
