She left the scene of the accident

GRAFTON, Vt. — On Dec. 2 at 1:21 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Vermont Route 121 in the town of Grafton (Windham County), Vermont. Vermont State Police arrived on scene and observed a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe at a position of uncontrolled rest after crashing into a power line.

Troopers and members of the Grafton Fire Department located Brannan M. Saunders, 34, of Rockingham, Vermont walking on foot, approximately half a mile west of the vehicle.

During the investigation, it was determined that Saunders was the operator of the above vehicle. Saunders was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of the accident, careless and negligent operation, and driving with a criminally suspended license. Saunders was transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Westminster for processing. 

Saunders was later released with a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on Dec. 18 at 8 a.m. to answer to the above charges.
