NEWPORT — As part of a statewide effort to understand the needs of older adults, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services and the State Plan on Aging Planning Committee are seeking public input that will guide the next four-year State Plan on Aging.
Feedback from residents can be provided in two ways. Public input sessions have been held statewide in recent weeks, and the next one in our area is Dec. 6, at the Newport Senior Center, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Residents are also invited to complete the online State Plan on Aging Survey, which will be open until Jan. 15, 2019. The public sessions and survey are critical first steps in understanding the needs of older New Hampshire residents and planning for a state that appreciates, incorporates and addresses those needs in meaningful, sustainable ways.
Information from the listening sessions and survey will be used to inform the New Hampshire State Plan on Aging that will be submitted to the Federal Administration for Community Living. This plan is a requirement to receive federal funding for the Older Americans Act programs in New Hampshire. Public input is critical and the committee appreciates everyone who takes the time to complete the survey.
