WALPOLE — Once again this December, the Walpole Unitarian Church will be offering their Labyrinth of Lights to the community during the winter solstice season.
It’s the time to step out of the hectic season and join others from the community in walking the traditional “Labyrinth of Lights” at the Walpole Unitarian Church, a gentle time for a pause to reflect during this season.
The Labyrinth will take place in the ballroom upstairs at the Parish House, behind the church on Union Street. This year’s dates: Dec. 16, 20, 21, 22, and 27, open from 5-7 p.m.
It provides visitors a quiet time for meditative reflection as they wend their way through the light-studded greenery and plant their own candle at the center.
Together with the serene background music and the dimly lit space, this ritual is said by many to bring a sense of peaceful spiritual nourishment during the darkening and hectic days of December.
Admission is open to all by donation. All money received is gratefully accepted and will be divided equally between the Monadnock Interfaith Project and the Fall Mountain Food Shelf.
