SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The director of finance at Springfield Hospital, Scott Whittemore, resigned his position Monday, the hospital said. The Eagle Times was informed of his departure by an employee who received the news via an all-staff email.
The reasons for his departure were “personal” according to a hospital spokesperson. Reached Tuesday by telephone, Whittemore confirmed he had left his position and had no further comment.
Springfield Hospital has been the subject of recent controversy due to financial decisions that some current and former employees do not agree with. However, there is no indication that Whittemore’s departure has anything to do with hospital policy.
The hospital did not immediately identify a successor to the finance position.
