BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the United Church, School Street beginning at 1:30 p.m. Dianne Potter will lead the group in doing a holiday craft project.
At the Nov. 13 meeting, Justine Fafara, head librarian at Bridge Memorial Library in Walpole, spoke about the current renovations to the library, including the addition to the building.She also highlighted the many program offerings of the library. Justine was accompanied by Gail LaHaise, library board member. Club members contributed several bags of non-perishable food and personal-care items to the Fall Mountain Food Shelf. Brenda Purney was welcomed into club membership and she received her General Federation of Women’s Clubs membership pin from Club Co-President Judy Boynton. Committees gave reports and announcements of upcoming community events were made.
Members provided cookies for the Dec. 1 Rotary Club sponsored family movie and visit with Santa. Other December activities include attendance at one of the two Kurn Hattin holiday concerts and luncheons (Dec. 13 or 21), and assisting with Central School’s annual “Shopping Day” on Dec. 19, by helping the children wrap the gifts they have chosen for their family members. Items that will appeal to children to buy may be taken to the school at any time or brought to the meeting to be taken to the school.

The local club is a member of the GFWC whose signature project is domestic abuse awareness and prevention.
