SUNAPEE — The Sunapee girls basketball team opened their 2018 season Friday night at home, dropping a 57-33 decision to defending D-IV state champion Hinsdale, 57-33.
“We knew Hinsdale was going to be tough, but we also knew that we had the components to beat them, too,” said Sunapee Coach Stephanie Larpenter.
Marybeth Groton and Louise Groton led the Lakers with 7 points each.
Sunapee returns to action Friday night in a 5:30 p.m. contest hosting Farmington.
