The GM girls opened their 2018-19 campaign on the road at Black River’s new Sue Pollender court and came away with a 43-point victory. The court was dedicated to Pollender, the long-time coach prior to the start of the game. The Chieftains built a nine-point lead after one quarter, and were up by 11 at the half, 22-11. GM exploded offensively in the third quarter, outscoring Black River 29-9 in the frame to lead 51-20 heading into the fourth. Paige Karl led GM with 14 points and Allie Kennedy pitched in with 10 off the bench. Amazingly, all 11 GM players scored on Monday night in a complete team effort. The Chieftains start out 1-0 and will face a big test on the road at Windsor this Friday night.
