NEWPORT, Vt. — Yesterday the Vermont State Police sought assistance in locating Mark Lovejoy. On Dec. 11 the Orleans County Court issued a warrant for Mark Lovejoy for a violation of his court ordered conditions of release. State Police have attempted to locate Lovejoy at his listed addresses however it has been reported he is no longer residing at those addresses. Lovejoy has also failed to comply with the Sex Offender Registry for failure to provide updated photographs and address in the town of Barton. Lovejoy is listed on the Sex Offender Registry for a conviction of third-degree sexual assault on May 27, 2004 in Connecticut. Lovejoy is 5’10” tall, 160lb with brown hair and hazel eyes. Lovejoy’s reported last known whereabouts was in the city of Newport; he has a $200.00 bail.
On Dec. 12 at 8:45 a.m., after Vermont State Police received several helpful tips from the public regarding Lovejoy, Lovejoy was located in Newport and taken into custody on his outstanding warrant by Vermont State Police without incident. Lovejoy is also charged with violating 3 sets of conditions of release, unlawful trespass and failure to comply with the Sex Offender Registry. Lovejoy was arraigned yesterday in Orleans County Court.
