NEWPORT — The Library Arts Center has issued its call for entries for the Juried Regional Competition.
The exhibit will be held from Feb. 9 to March 21 with an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.
All New Hampshire and Vermont artists are invited to submit work for the Library Arts Center’s Juried Regional Exhibit.
Jurors for 2019 are Stephanie Kyriazis, Chief of Interpretation, Saint Gaudens National Historic Site, and Penny Whitman, Community and Economic Development Field Specialist, UNH Cooperative Extension.
The entry deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography and mixed media are welcome. Artists may submit up to two recent works made in the last two years.
All works will be juried online, and all submissions must be made online via “EntryThingy.” The online submission process may be completed with the submission form. The LAC is unable to accept physical submissions for the jury process.
Artists are encouraged to also compete for the Library Arts Center Regional Selections Exhibit when entering the Juried Regional. While choosing work for the Juried Regional, jurors are also asked to select 6-8 artists they feel present the strongest work (from those who choose to compete).
These selected artists are awarded the opportunity to collectively display a larger body of their work in the Library Arts Center Selections Exhibit in the 2020 Exhibit Season.
This year’s 2019 Selections winners are welcome to enter the Juried Regional, but are asked to wait one year before competing for Selections again.
