Patricia V. Melesco

ROCKINGHAM, Vt. — Patricia V. Melesco, 81, of Pleasant Valley Road, died Dec. 13, 2018 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Born Aug. 6, 1937 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Kartaszewicz) Melesco. She had lived in Canada before moving to Vermont in 1997.

She received her B.A. from San Francisco State University, did graduate work in theology at Sacramento State and Notre Dame College in Manchester.

For 25 years Patricia worked as a deputy probation officer for Alameda County (California) Probation Department.

She served in the U.S. Air Force.

Patricia was a member of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains; Amnesty International; Call to Action; and NAACP.

She trained and showed dogs in competition and was past recording secretary for the German Shepherd Dog Club of America —Working Dog Association.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chester, Vermont, enjoyed gardening and played the piano for a hobby.

Pat is survived by many cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother Michael Melesco who died in 1974.

A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. from St. Mary Church, 182 Main Street, Newmarket. Burial will take place in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.

Rather than flowers memorials may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
