BELMONT/MOUNT HOLLY, Vt. — On Dec. 28, troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks were dispatched to a reported burglary in Mount Holly. Investigation revealed the Belmont Country Store building had been entered unlawfully during the night prior at approximately 3:15 am. Security footage revealed a lone male perpetrator entering the store and filling a black garbage bag with multiple boxes of cigarettes and lighters. The male appears to be holding a crowbar in the available footage and his head and face are covered. Based on the point of entry and the targeted merchandise, it appears that the male was familiar with the store’s layout.
This case is currently under investigation.
