Gerald Edward Lynch

COURTESY
NEWPORT — Gerald Edward Lynch, of Newport, born Nov. 5, 1945 to Margaret Lois (Strange) and Joseph Howard Lynch in Taunton, Massachusetts died peacefully in his home on Dec. 27, 2018. Gerry was surrounded by friends and family and left this world with love, pure music, and a song in his heart.

Gerry led a colorful and active life, hiking mountains and long distance biking. He was an accomplished photographer, guitarist, singer, and teacher. His profession as a machinist/toolmaker was both stimulating and rewarding. His career began in Massachusetts at the Foxboro Company. Moving north to Maine and later to New Hampshire, he found many rewarding challenges and learning opportunities wherever he worked.

Gerry’s hobbies and passions included diving, bird hunting, his dogs, fresh water fishing, and camping are too numerous to list in their entirety. The same is true for the number of lives he so strongly influenced.

Gerry’s friends and family will miss his humor, intelligence, curiosity and kindness. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Lynn E. Lynch; daughters, Laura (Lynch) and her husband Joseph Pearson, and Jill M. (Cabral) and her husband Jason Wyatt; grandchildren, Jacob Strojny, Brendan Wyatt, James Wyatt, and Brooke Wyatt; brother Don Lynch and his wife Rose, sister Jude Lynch; nieces and nephews, Stephen, Michael, Terry, Meribah, Karen and Chris. Gerry was predeceased by daughter Alethea (Cabral).

An open house at Gerry’s house will be held for family and friends on Feb. 2, 2019 from noon to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and Lake Sunapee VNA Home Health and Hospice.
