CLAREMONT — The Eagle Times heard from Chuck Allen of the Arrowhead Recreation Club on Jan. 1. It seems the rain did not defeat a good time on First Night.
“Contrary to the caption of your front page First Night photos,” wrote Allen, “there was tubing on New Year’s Eve at Arrowhead, picture at right. There was actually a large crowd at times, both outside and inside the lodge. Weather varied from no rain, to mist, to rain, to sleet to snow. Tubing was followed by a large fireworks display at 10 p.m. Strange phenomenon happened just as the fireworks ended, it started to snow heavily for a short period of time. We missed some great pictures by not stopping by Arrowhead.”
“I have to commend the Arrowhead volunteers and the public for braving the elements, people were actually enjoying themselves.”
Our apologies to Arrowhead for missing an opporturnity.
