The spring-like weather in northern New England is fleeting.
A day after temperatures soared to a record-breaking 62 degrees (17 Celsius) in Portland, Maine, the mercury will barely top freezing Wednesday throughout the region. There is a possibility of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow Wednesday night.
Tom Hawley from the National Weather Service says the morning commute Thursday morning could be slippery.
He says it will warm up again later in the week, with high temperatures around 50 degrees (10 Celsius) with rain on Friday. Then the temperature will drop back down in the 20s this weekend
