Kristy Merrill is named President of bankers group

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Bankers Association has announced Kristy Merrill has been appointed as its new President.

Kristy joins New Hampshire Bankers after nearly 15 years at the New Hampshire State House. Serving in multiple roles at the New Hampshire Senate since 2003, she was most recently Chief of Staff for the last four years, serving as Senior Advisor to the Senate President and Senate Majority Leader. 

In her role as Chief of Staff, she has experience managing staff, communications, and the legislative process, as well as drafting and negotiating legislation, and working closely with Legislative leaders, the Governor’s office and department heads and commissioners.

I’m excited to get to work and hope to continue New Hampshire Bankers’ long tradition of strongly representing the banking industry while fostering a banking environment that strengthens our state and supports our citizens, our non-profits and our business communities.”

In 2018, Kristy was a 40 Under 40 award recipient from the New Hampshire Union Leader. She served as a board member for Families in Transition in Manchester from 2014-2018 and was a commission member of the Heritage Commission for the city of Manchester from 2008-2013. She holds a BA in Political Science from University of South Carolina and lives in Manchester.
