CLAREMONT — Helen L. Marro, 90, formerly of Hillside Terrace in Claremont, NH died Thursday, March 14 at Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity following a period of failing health. She was born in Claremont on April 6, 1928 the daughter of Edmond and Elsie (Mason) Girard and had been a lifetime area resident.
Helen had been employed in the finishing room at Dartmouth Woolen Mill for many years. She enjoyed bird watching and flower gardening. She was the widow of Floyd “Rendy” Marro, who died in 2009. Members of her family include three daughters, Linda Finley and her husband Charles, Londonderry; Mary Scott and her husband Thomas, Port St. Lucie, Florida; Jill Bradstreet and her husband Gordon, Plainfield; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister Rita Fontaine, Claremont; two stepsons, Richard Marro, Laconia; Robert Marro, Standish, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred Girard, Louis Girard, three sisters, Evelyn Martell, Doris Knapton, Alma Gill and a stepdaughter, Joyce Richardson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16 at the Roy Funeral Home with Rev. Priscilla Hull, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
