SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Join us Tuesday, March 26 through Saturday, March 30 as the Springfield Town Library celebrates Springfield Wellness Week with special programs fun and informative.
Tuesday, March 26, 10-11 a.m., the library will host “Music with Martha”. Martha Mitchell will perform old favorites and new songs too! Music and movement for wellness during this special story time for families with children ages birth to five. Wednesday, March 27, 10 a.m.-noon, relax and enjoy your creative side during “Art for all Ages” with Mona Frye from the Art Gym. A fun and stress free project will be provided.
Thursday, March 28, 3-4 p.m., the library will present “Home Meds – Medication Management”. Are your medications putting you at risk? Learn about this vital program which includes free medication screenings to help seniors safely manage medications. Later on Thursday, from 6:30-8 p.m., the library will present “Just Breathe Out with Betsy Thompson”. Manage stress and pain more effectively by learning and using the BreatheOut Dynamic system (BODs). This way of breathing focuses on the active, spine stretching outbreath. Learn how this daily practice promotes relaxation as well as strength.
Friday, March 29, 4-5 p.m., choreographer, Ashley Hensel-Browning, will share “Moving with Ashley for School Age Children” at the library. Celebrate health and happiness through movement while moving and grooving! Geared towards elementary school students and their families. Younger siblings are more than welcome to join in on the fun!
Springfield Wellness Week wraps up on Saturday, March 30, 6 p.m. with “Family Music Night with Claudine Langille” at the library. Claudine plays a mix of original and traditional acoustic music from around the world. Claudine will be joined by student Eme Zellis, a 15 year old fiddler from the Youth Tradition ensemble. Playing rootsy tunes and songs that are good for cookin’, it’s a musical treat that can’t be beat!
And don’t forget to visit our table at the Springfield Wellness Week Fair at The Great Hall on Monday, March 25, 5-7 p.m.. A highlight of the Fair will be the Keynote Address “What is Lifestyle Medicine?” by Dr. Scott Durgin.
