Rockwood, Anderson selected to Dream Dozen

With the announcement of the Vermont Basketball Coaches Association’s Dream Dozen teams for Vermont boys and girls, Windsor’s Olivia Rockwood and Green Mountain’s James Anderson made their respective 12-player rosters.

Rockwood entered the 1,000-point club in just the second game of her junior year in a December 14 win over Green Mountain this winter. Rockwood’s selection to the Dream Dozen squad for D-III and D-IV Vermont girls comes as no surprise, as her leadership for the Lady Jacks is obvious when watching Bruce Mackay’s Windsor team. Although the Jacks got bounced in the semifinals this season after a state title last winter, they will be back in the 2019-20 season with the majority of their team.

Joining Rockwood on the D3/D4 Dream Dozen team is Hayley Goodwin (Mid Vermont), Emi Vaughan (Thetford Academy), Schular Nolan (Arlington), Olivia Hogan (Twinfield), Lauryn Alley (Blue Mountain), Kiera Pipeling (West Rutland), Allie Almond (Proctor), Paige Pierce (Peoples), Alleigh Gabraree (Hazen), Elizabeth Bailey (West Rutland), and Grace Davis (Thetford Academy).

On the girls D1/D2 Dream Dozen is Josie Choniere (St. Johnsbury), Grace Mahar (Mt. Anthony), Makkena Boyd (CVU), Fiona Connolly (Rice), Ryleigh Coloutti (Fair Haven), Tia Martinez (Lake Region), Catherine Gilwee (CVU), Mia Cooper (Harwood), Caitlyn Dasaro (BFA St. Albans), Lindsay Joyal (Lyndon Institute), McKenna Marsh (North Country), and Carol Herbert (Burr and Burton).

GM’s Anderson was selected to the boys’ D-III/D-IV Dream Dozen after the junior point guard was a reliable force for Brian Rapanotti’s Chieftains this winter. Anderson seemed to come through late in games constantly and provided scoring for a team that hosted a playoff game this season. Anderson’s leadership role will most likely be even bigger for the Chieftains next winter.

Joining Anderson on the boys D3/D4 Dream Dozen is Isaiah Baker (Hazen), Bryce Ilsley (Oxbow), Jacob Tassie (Williamstown), Ian Steele (Danville), Joe Valerio (Proctor), Conner McKearin (Proctor), Eli Dunnet (Thetford), Zach Gould (Rivendell), Heith Mason (Poultney), Gavin Fowler (Twinfield), and Levi West (Randolph).

On the boys D1/D2 Dream Dozen is Michel Ndayishmiye (Rice), Leo Chikin (Rice), Leo Riby-Williams (Montpelier), Logan Wendell (St. Johnsbury), Ethan Harvey (CVU), Gavin Johnson (Mt. Anthony), Tyler Millerick (Brattleboro), Evan Parker (So. Burlington), Hunter Wells (Lamoille), Jensen Daly (Burlington), Tyler Ricker (Montpelier), and Aidan Botti (Mill River).
