BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Southern Vermont will hold a free kickoff for the annual event on March 30 at American Legion Post 37 located on 42 Rockingham St in Bellows Falls, Vermont. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and will continue until 4 pm. Kickoff is free and open to the public. The kickoff event serves as opportunity for the community to learn about how to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer.
“Kickoff is a great opportunity to showcase the many programs and services the American Cancer Society provides to the people in Southern Vermont,” said Taryn Sidney, volunteer event leadership team lead. “ It is also a great time for us to answer questions and invite new participants into our event, since we recently merged Windham and Windsor Relays. It’s a great change that will bring us a lot of successes in the future years! ”
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event to save lives from cancer. At Relay For Life events, participants celebrate people who have been touched by cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change. Together, we can beat our biggest rival. Join a Relay For Life event and help us attack cancer from every angle. During the kickoff event, community members will have the opportunity to register a team for the Relay For Life of Southern Vermont, which will be held June 22 – 23, 6 p.m.-6 a.m. at Bellows Falls Union High School.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society attack cancer in dozens of ways, each of them critical to achieving a world without cancer – from developing breakthrough therapies to building supportive communities, from providing empowering resources to deploying activists to raise awareness.
