William “Will” Noble, Goalkeeper for the Brattleboro Storm Soccer team and Vermont’s 14U Olympic Development team, has been named as one of the two goalkeepers selected for the US Olympic Development International team and will be travelling to Scotland and Ireland on April 5th to represent the US-East in the Hearts FC Tournament and other events.
The team’s first match in Edinburgh Scotland will be against one of the top European teams from Belarus. Also represented in the Hearts Tournament will be the following well known UK clubs: Heart of Midlothian, Aberdeen, Arsenal, Celtic, Hibernian, Rangers, and Liverpool.
Standing a little over 6’0”, Noble is currently an 8th Grader at Bellows Falls Middle School and is considering attending either Bellows Falls Union High School or Vermont Academy in the Fall of 2019.
“Our family originates from the Scottish and English borderlands so the trip will be a bit of a homecoming, although I’m not sure the English are prepared for the return of a Border Reiver. We will see”, remarked Noble’s father.
The Hearts Tournament is the latest outreach effort by the Scottish Premiere Club to boost their Global Youth Partnership Programme and talent identification efforts.
