CLAREMONT — Thanks to Evelyn Cormier, Claremont is getting a lot of positive publicity these days.

On Monday night Evelyn appeared on ABC television as a participant in the ongoing “Idol” competition. She impressed the three judges and will now head to Hawaii for the next round.

She will be one of the 40 contestants appearing in Showcase/Green Mile at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.

Results of that episode will be seen on ABC at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

“The best piece of advice from the judges was given during Hollywood week and it was directed at all of us,” Evelyn said. “Lionel Richie said, ‘So what if you forget words. Make some up. I forget words all the time, but the show goes on.’”
