Peter William Baker

CHARLESTOWN — Peter William Baker, 62, of Charlestown passed away on April 2, 2019 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born in Claremont on March 16, 1957 the son of Michael and Marion (Berquist) Baker.

Peter had worked for Sturm Ruger and North Country Smokehouse.

He had been on the Enfield Fire Department, Unity Fire Department, and had been chief of the Grafton Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed going fishing and photography. He loved spending time with his family and being around people.

He is survived by his son, Randy Baker and his wife Amy; two grandchildren, Piper and Scout; brothers, Dennis Baker and his wife Lisa, Bruce Baker, Frank Baker, Mark Baker and his wife Amber, and Karl Baker and his wife Denise; many nieces and nephews; and also several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Saturday, April 13 from 2 to 4 p.m., with a service at 3 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date in Mill Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stringer Funeral Home to help with the funeral costs.
