Robert Stanley McNeil

WEATHERSFIELD, Vt. — Robert (Bob) Stanley McNeil, 70, of Weathersfield, Vermont passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon.

He was born in Burlington, Vermont on May 10, 1948 the son of William and Clara (Holden) McNeil.

Bob was a graduate of Windsor High School in class of 1966. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy.

He had worked for the State of Vermont with the DOT.

Bob was a member of the Windsor Elks Club and had been a member of the Windsor Country Club for many years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling out west. He loved to cook, but most of all he was happiest spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kibble) McNeil whom he married on Jan. 22, 1972; his siblings, Stephen McNeil and wife Andrea, Mike McNeil and his wife Donna, Linda Wright and her husband George, Randy McNeil and his wife Terri Decker, and Stuart McNeil and his wife Debbie, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Roger McNeil and William McNeil, and sister, Kathleen “Kitty” Berry.

Visiting hours will be at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Saturday, April 20 from 12 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Ascutneyville Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Claremont Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
