ENFIELD — New this year, the Museum Gardens will offer an Herb and Berry CSA. Limited this first season to 10 participants, the CSA will offer 10 weeks of fresh herbs as well as some in season berries. The program will cost $75 and will include a museum membership for the 2019 season. Participants will be given their choice of weeks throughout the growing season (subject to weather, but most likely June-September). Each week a newsletter of available varieties, with tips and recipes will appear in your inbox.
You will have at least two opportunities each week to come by the gardens and pick your selections. The Garden Coordinator will be on hand to help you with your selections. As the season is longer than 10 weeks, you may pick and choose which weeks you want to participate; you will be given a punch card for your 10 weeks of shares. Each share includes three “choices.” For instance: one week you may want to partake of a half pint of organic raspberries, a bunch of lemon basil and a small bouquet of lavender flowers. That would be one “punch” on your card. Another week perhaps your three selections would include stalks of organic rhubarb, a bunch of parsley and a bag of lemon balm. That would also be one punch. Each week will have many selections available from throughout our gardens: medicinal, dye, fragrance, everlasting, culinary, all the organic herbs you could hope for can be yours, with our CSA.
