CLAREMONT— Plainfield and Cornish schools announced Wednesday their choice of a new superintendent: Cory LeClair, who has been the acting interim superintendent for SAU#6 twice now.
LeClair has served SAU#6 as assistant superintendent since 2015. She stepped in as acting superintendent after the departure in 2018 of Middleton McGoodwin, and again in 2019 after the departure of Keith Pfeifer. Although she was one of two finalists for the job of SAU#6 superintendent, the school board voted to hire Michael Tempesta.
“I’m very excited,” she said after the school board meeting Wednesday night. “It was a considerate and kind process and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
The Plainfield (K through 8) and Cornish elementary schools (SAU#32) share a superintendent. Students in SAU#32 attend Lebanon High School (SAU#88).
LeClair will finish out the school year in Claremont and begin her new job July 1.
