The win comes a day after celebrating Senior Night for the Cardinals in a home loss to Hanover on Monday.
“Senior Night for baseball is always a bittersweet day, as it is the final senior day for these athletes,” said Stevens head coach Paul Silva. “They have their senior night in the other sports they play but baseball is the final season of their high school career and can be the last time these young men play a home game in the Stevens colors.”
Stevens honored their eight seniors Karsten Kleyensteuber, Ethan Johnson, Trey Theriault, Matt Szelangowski, Derrick Stanhope, Cam Macia, Dennis Peaslee, and Josh Stithen.
“I just want to thank all 8 of them for their dedication to athletics at Stevens and to the baseball program,” continued Silva. “High school sports are cyclical and while it is always hard to say good bye to these young men that have played for four years, they are headed for graduation and the next chapter in their life. The underclassmen will then have their chance to make their mark as they move forward in the high school career. It is one of the great things about high school sports.”
