Nature Discovery Center opens

COURTESY
WARNER–– The Nature Discovery Center of Warner will open for the season on Sunday, May 19 at noon. Regular hours through October will be Fridays and Sundays from noon-5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., or by appointment for groups. The Nature Center is located at 18 Highlawn Road, just one mile up Kearsarge Mountain Road, and adjacent to the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum.

If you haven’t visited the Nature Discovery Center, you’re in for a treat. This hands-on interactive family nature center offers low admission rates. Its exhibits on birds and mammals, sea life, plant life, insects, reptiles, fossils, rocks and minerals, will fascinate the entire family. Heft a whale’s tooth, see what features help desert plants survive, place your hand into a dinosaur footprint and hear what different owls sound like. Test your knowledge of bears, bats, pollinators and poison ivy. The kids will love the learning activities and winning nature prizes for their efforts. After you’ve toured inside the Nature Center, check out the pollinator garden or explore the Medicine Woods nature trail.
