Terriers sweep MVL Large School Championships

BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Bellows Falls track and field program flexed their muscle on Monday, coming away with the top spot in both the boys’ and girls’ MVL Large School Championships at Mt. Anthony Union High School.

The Girls ran away with their first-place finish, beating out second-place Hartford by 77 points. For the boys it was a little tougher, as they only edged second-place Mt. Anthony by 16 points.

The Terriers’ boys were very strong in the throwing events, led by Reno Tuttle who placed first in the shot put and second in the discus. They also grabbed the top two spots in the high jump with Gabe Hakimoglu and Ryan Kelly, and the relay team placed first in the 4x800m.

The BF girls were strong in the long distance category as they occupied the top two spots in the 1500m (Abby Broadley, Stephanie Ager) and the top three spots in the 3000m (Broadley, Ager, Lia Clark). The girls team also placed first in the 4x400m and 4x800m.

And, in the javelin, the Terriers finished in the top four spots (Breanna Stockman, Macie Streeter, Halle Dickerson, and Emma Lawrence).
