Driving fast with fireworks and a tan powder

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — On May 24 at approximately 3:45 p.m., troopers with the Vermont State Police observed a vehicle traveling south on I-91 in Springfield. Troopers determined the vehicle was traveling at 101 miles per hour in a posted 65 mile per hour zone. Theoperator, Eric A. Bunce, 30, of Springfield, Vermont was arrested for excessive speed and transported to the Vermont State Police- Westminster Barracks for processing.

During the course of the traffic stop, it was suspected that Bunce was in possession of illicit drugs. A search warrant was obtained for Bunce’s vehicle.

During the search, the following items were located: 16 firecrackers; 9 Roman candle fireworks; drug paraphernalia; 1 small glassine bag containing an unknown tan powder. This powder is being sent to the Vermont Forensic Lab for testing.

Bunce is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court in Windsor on July 30 at 8 a.m. to answer the charges.
