Springfield Farmers’ Market opening for the season

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — The Springfield Farmers’ Market will be opening for their 10th season June 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on lower Clinton St. (Rt.11) near the trailhead of the Toonerville Walk/Bike Path. This market is held every Saturday except June 15 Springfield’s Alumni Day, rain or shine.

The market has a diverse group of vendors offering agricultural products of grass fed beef, roasting chickens, eggs, honey, maple syrup and fresh produce including blueberries, peas, scallions, greens and a large variety of other vegetables as well as pickles and preserves. There will be an assortment of baked goods of artisan breads, pies, cookies and maple baked goods as well as fresh old-fashioned sour cream doughnuts. The market will also feature unique handcrafted items of grain bag totes, bee’s wax candles, handmade baskets, kitchen helpers such as pot holders and aprons and much more. An author of Christian books will be with the market occasionally. The opening day market will feature musician Silas McPrior.

The Springfield Farmers’ market has room for qualified vendors. The market also welcomes local businesses and non profit groups to apply for a space to promote your business or demonstrate a product, you can register for a date of your choice. On Aug. 3 the market will be having a combined event with the Springfield Booster Club with activities for adults and children. More details at a later date.
