Colby-Sawyer celebrates 2019 graduates

NEW LONDON — Colby-Sawyer celebrated its 181st Commencement on Saturday, May 11, awarding approximately 185 undergraduate degrees and recognizing students and other individuals for academic excellence, outstanding contributions to society, and service to the college and community.

Stephen Casullo of New London earned a B.S. in business administration. Sean Connery of Claremont earned a B.S. in nursing. Connery graduated as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in nursing and the Student Nurses Association. Joseph Cornelio of New London earned a B.S. in business administration. Cornelio earned the Business Administration Capstone Award. Aspen Dubuque of Washington earned a B.S. in exercise science. Dubuque graduated magna cum laude as a member of Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, Psi Chi International Honor Society, and the the Exercise and Sport Sciences Club. Following graduation, she will pursue an M.S. in exercise science at Merrimack College and a fellowship with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Alexandra Harris of Bellows Falls earned a B.A. in sociology. Harris graduated magna cum laude as a member of Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. She works as a family engagement specialist at Easterseals in Springfield, Vermont. Alicia Lacasse of Grantham earned a B.A. in media and communication. Shayna Levesque of Enfield earned a B.S. in environmental studies. Levesque earned the Environmental Studies Capstone and Baccalaureate Awards. She now works at the Fell’s Historic Estate and Gardens as nursery manager and landscape assistant. Meghan O’Connell of Enfield earned a B.F.A. in studio art. O’Connell was a member of the women’s swimming and diving team and the Christian Fellowship.

Katherine Provencher of Sunapee earned a B.S. in nursing. Provencher was a member of the Student Nurses Association. Anna Richardson of Sunapee earned a B.S. in accounting. Alton Rorick of Springfield earned a B.A. in self-designed. This summer, Rorick will relocate to Japan where he will teach English through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. Kyle Sargent of New London earned a B.A. in psychology. Lydia Schoonmaker of New London earned a B.A. in creative writing. Schoonmaker served as a student ambassador for the Office of Admissions and as vice president of Word Order. Natalie Wilson of Claremont earned a B.S. in nursing. Wilson graduated magna cum laude as a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in nursing. She will begin her nursing career this summer in the Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit and the Cardiac Special Care Unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
